Herman McIntyre

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Herman McIntyre, 83, died at 3:58 a.m. March 3, 2002, at the Jackson Manor in Jackson.

Born June 12, 1918, at Chaffee, son of the late Marvin Franklin McIntyre and Della Mae McNeal McIntyre, he worked as a watchman for Lapierre Handle Factory in Jackson until his retirement in 1983. Also he worked for Missouri Dry Dock and various sawmills and attended the Word of Faith Fellowship.

He served in the U.S. Army and had been a resident of Cape Girardeau since 1958.

On Dec. 23, 1941, in Jackson, he married M. Maxine Goehman, who preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 1997.

Survivors include: four sons, Howard McIntyre, Gary McIntyre and Bradley McIntyre of Cape Girardeau and Roger McIntyre of Jackson; five daughters; Judy Biester of Whitewater, Sue Heisserer of New Hamburg, Teresa Payne of Sedgewickville, Linda Kight of Delta and Delona Mills of Jackson; and 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers, two sisters, and three grandchildren.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Rocky Tallent will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
