Helen Welker

BLOOMFIELD - Helen Lorene Welker, 85, died March 28, 2002, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington.

Born Dec. 14, 1916, at Bell City, daughter of the late Wilmer and Myrtie Garner Dunlop, she spent most of her life in Bloomfield and retired from Elder Manufacturing Company in 1982 after several years of service.

On Dec. 11, 1933, she married Sam Welker who preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2001.

One daughter, Winni Jo, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Sammie Welker of Bloomfield; two daughters, Jean Dunaway of Bonne Terre and Mary Cook of St. Louis; one brother, Garner Dunlap of Bell City; three sisters, Mary Myers of Albuquerque, N.M., Dobbie Sullivan of Annapolis and Ida Armes of Caryville, Fla.; and eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
