John Nunn
PARMA - John L. Nunn, 70, died March 30, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 21, 1931, in Lilbourn, son of the late Proctor and Ada Ann Calhorn Nunn, he was a resident of Parma after moving from St. Louis in 1989. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of the Malden Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, as well as the American Legion in Malden. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge of Dexter.
On Dec. 17, 1955, in Kentucky, he married Virginia Banks
On Aug. 30, 1996, in Parma, he married Ruby Beaird Machen, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Teresa Wittenberg of Estacada, Ore., Leisa Oldfield and Paula Blair, both of Franklin, Ohio; three stepsons, Jimmy Machen of Malden, Timmy Machen of Dexter and Terry Machen of Norfolk, Va.; one brother, Everett Nunn of Dexter; one sister, Lou Brewer of Bernie; and six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by one sister, four brothers and one stepdaughter.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Stan Dauck of Bernie officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mounds Cemetery in New Madrid.
