Dorothy Harrison

SIKESTON -- Dorothy Oneal Harrison, 80, died at 1:30 a.m. March 10, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Jan. 25, 1923, in Cooter, daughter of the late Willie T. and Lillie Mae Dean Oakley, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston and had been a bookkeeper for Steward Steel Supply Co. for 25 years.

On Oct. 12, 1940, in West Memphis, Ark., she married Gail D. Harrison who preceded her in death on June 14, 1998.

She was also preceded by one son, Billy Harrison; one brother, Bill Oakley; and one sister, Bess Copeland.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Dotti and Larry Gardner of Matthews; one sister, Delia Utley of Steele; one grandson and his wife, John Mark and Angela Gardner of Matthews; and one great-grandson, Johnathan Lee Gardner of Matthews.

Visitation is from 5-8 pm. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Caston Countz, minister of Matthews First Christian Church and close family friend, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Master pallbearer will be Kelles Wade.

Active pallbearers will be: Johnny B. Copeland, Randy Copeland, Fredie Copeland, Jim Barnes, Orvel Witt and David Couch.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Rev. Dolan Rogers, Rev. Rick Ramsey, Rev. David Jackson and Rev. Brian Smith.
