Mary Gaye Burgess

PORTAGEVILLE - Mary Gaye Burgess, 82, died Sept. 19, 2003, at the Hillcrest Manor in DeSoto.

Born June 23, 1921, in the state of Tennessee to the late Lattie Stewart and H.T. Edmundson, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville.

On Jan. 9, 1945, in Hayward, she married Yvon Burgess, who preceded her in death on June 9, 2003.

Survivors include: one brother, Holland Edmundson of Kennett; two sisters, Helen Faye Stewart and Evelyn Willbanks of Jonesboro, Ark., and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled to begin at noon Sunday at the DeLisle Funeral Home with services scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Inman will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
