Peg Parker

ESSEX - Sarah "Peg" Parker, 80, died March 6, 2002, at her home.

Born Dec. 19, 1921, in Parma, daughter of the late Robert and Cossie Ellis Sanders, she moved to Essex in 1954 and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bernie.

On April 29, 1937, she married Fonnie Roscoe Parker who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1991.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Parker of Leaf River, Ill., Larry and Linda Parker of Puxico and Kevin and Lindy Parker of Essex; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Chester Shirkey of Bloomfield, Sue and Roger Henson of Fingers, Tenn., and Phyllis and Keith Gregory of Greenville, Tenn.; one brother, John Sanders of Chaffee; two sisters, Pansy Welch of Vidalia, La., and Stella Carroll of Chaffee; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nora Woolem and Mae Breece; and one brother, Bill Sanders.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dennis Ward of Essex will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
