Buster Yarber
SIKESTON - Robert "Buster" Yarber, 82, died March 4, 2002, at his home.
Born Feb. 10, 1920, in Oxford, Miss., son of the late Robert and Lottie Green Yarber, he lived in Iowa before returning to Missouri and was an Apostolic minister.
He was first married to Arebelle Yarber.
On Feb. 25, 1980, he married Melodie Gesling who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: six sons, Robert Moses Yarber III, Dwight Yarber and Lemule Yarber of Michigan City, Ind., Calvin Yarber of Elkhart, Ind., the Rev. Chester Yarber of Sikeston and Tyrone Burke of the state of California; six daughters, Shirley Curtis of Michigan City, Terry Hemphill of Gary, Ind., Brenda Carter and Karen Hicks of Sikeston; Connie Green of Kansas City and Lucille Yarber of Burlington, Iowa; twin adopted sons, Chandler Yarber and Charles Yarber of Sikeston; five brothers, Wylie Yarber, Roy B. Yarber and Aaron Yarber of Sikeston, David Yarber of Gary and Isaiah Yarber of Fort Valley, Ga.; three sisters, Ella Sumlin of Sikeston, Pniler Cooper of Madison, Ill., and Sammie Underwood of St. Louis; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. Saturday until service time at 2 p.m. at West End Missionary Baptist Church. His son, the Rev. Chester Yarber, pastor, will officiate.
Burial is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday at the National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
