Thelma Moore
KELSO - Thelma Ward Moore, 85, died at 6:40 a.m. March 4, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 26, 1916, in Randles, daughter of the late William A. and Hattie Paralee Harmon Sledge, she worked in the skiving department for the Florsheim Shoe Company. She was a member of the Fairview General Baptist Church in Arbor.
On March 25, 1935, she married Ralph S. Ward who preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1970.
She and Alvin Moore were married Feb. 10, 1973, and he died March 7, 1996.
One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Ron Ward of Scott City; one brother, Ross Harmon of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Anna Sledge of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Tim Ward of Houston, Texas, Brad Ward of Jackson and Matt Ward of Springfield, Ill.; and eight great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Mary, Nathan, Hailey, Grant, Grayson, Kati and Peyton.
Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Luther Rhodes will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
