Frank Washington
MARSTON - Frank George Washington, 61, died Aug. 23, 2002, at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
Born Dec. 12, 1940, at Marston to the late George and Maynetta Robinson Washington, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam conflict and attended the Church of God in Christ in Malden. He was retired from the New Madrid County Highway Department after working there 20 years.
On Oct. 14, 1970, in New Madrid County, he married W. Beatrice Higgs, who survives.
Other survivors include: four sisters, Martha Lockridge of Carbondale, Ill., Mae Rogers of Fresno, Calif., Bertha Jones of Chicago and Dorthy McKinley of Iowa City, Iowa; and one brother, Booker T. Washington of Benton Harbor, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lula Sanders, and five brothers, Leonard, John, Lawrence, Willie and Joseph Washington.
Visitation will be from noon until time for services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Harley Higgs will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden with full military rites.
