ST. JOSEPH - Claude N. "Tump" Brashears, 86, formerly of Bertrand, died March 3, 2005, at the St. Joseph Health Care Center.
Born Oct. 12, 1918, in Bertrand, son of the late Henry and Rosalie Brashears, he was a farmer and carpenter and lived in Stanberry for 50 years before moving to St. Joseph several years ago. He was a member of the Hillcrest Bible Church.
His wife, Helen Brashears, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Brashears, who died in the Vietnam War; and six brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Lowell and Alice Brashears, Robert and Sue Brashears and Tony and Karolyn Brashears of Cameron; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Max Fannon of St. Joseph; and 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home in St. Joseph where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday.
Burial will follow in the High Ridge Cemetery at Stanberry.
