Mable Caldwell

EAST PRAIRIE - Mable Marie Caldwell, 87, died at 9:48 p.m. March 17, 2003, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 10, 1915, in Green County, Ark., she was the daughter of the late John W. and Maggie Marrow Hedges.

On Feb. 14, 1928, she married Amos Ray Douglas, who preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1954. On Feb. 12, 1960, she married Theodore R. Caldwell who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2000.

Survivors include: four sons, Bill Douglas of Amarillo, Texas, Harlan Douglas of Benton, Howard Douglas of Scott City and Richard Douglas of East Alton, Ill.; two daughters, Margaret Stone of Crane and Margie Mayabb of East Prairie; and 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were three children, Helen Douglas, Porter Douglas and Jeff Douglas; 10 brothers and sisters; and two granddaughters.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday with Mike Johnson and Burl Britt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
