C.A. Carter
SIKESTON - Clarence Allen Carter, 61, died at 10:30 a.m. June 14, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 13, 1942, in Sikeston, son of Lorama Miller Carter of Sikeston and the late Earl Carter, he was employed with the Halliburton Company for many years and was of the Protestant belief. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114, Eagles Aerie 3319 and VFW Post 3174 in Sikeston.
On Dec. 20, 1973, in Charleston, he married Sandra Mason who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one daughter, Stephanie Casting of Sikeston; two stepsons, David Mason of Sterling, Alaska, and Clayton Mason of Las Cruces, N.M.; one sister, Earletta Mullins of Lost Nations, Iowa; and nine grandchildren.
One half brother, Douglas Sanders, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jim Barnhart, associate pastor of the Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
