Peggy Barlow
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Peggy Sue McClain Barlow, 63, died June 1, 2003, at her daughter's home.
Born Feb. 20, 1940, in Chaffee, daughter of the late Henry and Mandy Cook McClain, she owned and operated Barlow's Self-Service and Food Stop in Delta with her husband after his retirement from the United States Air Force.
Survivors include: her children, Vivian Barlow and Cheri Chapman of Cape Girardeau, Karen and Jerome Backfisch of New Hamburg, Clifford and Mary Jo Barlow of Scappoose, Ore., Lisa and Dale Amelunke of Pocahontas, Teresa and Tim Borneman of Delta and Lorie and Eric Simpson of Chaffee; one brother, Delmar McClain of Chaffee; one sister, Jo Ann Dennison of Chaffee; her best friend, Euna Fay Schoelhamer of Chaffee and many other relatives and friends.
Peggy's one son and five daughters gave her 15 grandchildren, Danielle Kimball and her husband, Gary, Amanda Backfisch, Sarah Backfisch, Matthew Backfisch, Christy McClain, Doni Jo Dysinger, Clifford Barlow Jr., Brandon Bentley, Wesley Bentley, Kyle Borneman, Megan Borneman, Eric Simpson, Jessica Brown, Skyler Simpson and Brittany Simpson; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan White, Dillon Kimball and Quinton McClain.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John Rhodes will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
