Anna Guethle

DEXTER - Anna May Guethle, 81, died June 8, 2003, at Cypress Point Health Care.

Born May 20, 1922, in Dexter, daughter of the late Fred and Philomenia Dietsch Sauer, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had been a bookkeeper for Dexter Automotive.

On Nov. 23, 1949, in Dexter, she married Oscar Joseph Guethle who preceded her in death on June 22, 1994.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sharon Guethle of Dexter; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna Simonton of Cape Girardeau, Rosemary and Steve Jennemann of Pevely and Lorretta and Rick Morrow of Dexter; four sisters, Benetta Svoboda of Avenel, N.J., and Martha Guethle Lelia Backfisch and Cecilia Bower of Dexter; and seven grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Sauer, Joseph Sauer and George Sauer; and three sisters, Theresia Reichert, Margaret Olliges and Helen Wickham.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where parish prayers will be read at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. John Sheley officiating.
