Florence Diebold

CHAFFEE - Florence Diebold, 74, died at 3:25 p.m. June 9, 2003, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 29, 1928, in Kelso, daughter of the late Joseph Michael and Theresa Heuring Welter, she retired as a machine operator for Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Daughters of St. Ambrose.

On Nov. 8, 1949, she married Raymond Diebold who survives.

Other survivors include: four brothers, Jerome Welter of Cape Girardeau, Don Welter of Columbia, Gary "Coop" Welter of Kelso and Dale Welter of Peoria, Ill.; and one sister, Sharon Lappe of Oak Ridge.

One brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where parish prayers are scheduled for 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery at Chaffee.

Pallbearers will be: Tom Lappe Jr., Gary Welter Jr., Jeff Welter, Darrell Welter, Eric Welter and Tim Lappe.
