Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white floor length bridal gown designed with spaghetti straps and a straight neckline. The bodice was embellished with sequins and the long A-line skirt was complemented with a sheer overlay. Her double-tiered bridal veil was secured with a wedding headband. She carried a bouquet of yellow day lilies. The bride and her attendants were barefoot for the ceremony.

Brooklynn Smith of Columbia attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Allison Nowell of New Madrid and Kim Wells of Columbia. Soloist Lara Underwood of Columbia provided music for the ceremony and Marsha Lindler of Columbia greeted guests. All are friends of the bride.

Caleb Powell of New Madrid served his friend as best man. Groomsmen were Paul Jimerson of Sikeston, Mo., and Brad Kolwyck of Cape Girardeau, Mo., cousins of the bridegroom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in a beach house on Folly Beach, catered by Margie Smith, grandmother of the bride.

The couple is residing in Norfolk, Va., where the bridegroom is stationed with the U.S. Navy. Mrs. Kolwyck is a senior at the University of South Carolina.
