David Midgett

DEXTER - David Earl Midgett, 55, died June 6, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 7, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, son of the late Harry J. and Lila McGowen Midgett, he had been a maintenance employee for Dexter Public Schools. A member of Dexter Masonic Lodge 532, he was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry Valley of St. Louis, Aad Grotto of Poplar Bluff, Sword of Bunker Hill Leadbelt Order 83 and the Crowley Ridge Black Powder Club.

On Feb. 11, 1967, in Dexter, he married Janis Miller who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, David Midgett Jr. and Robert Midgett of Dexter; and six grandchildren, Shawn Midgett of Essex and Samantha Midgett, Lacey Midgett, Sara Midgett, Natalie Midgett and Hannah Midgett of Dexter.

Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. David Light officiating.

Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
