Louis Barnes

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Louis Cletus Barnes, 81, died at 1:15 a.m. May 22, 2003, at Pinecrest Manor.

Born Dec. 25, 1922, in Christian County, Ky., son of the late Ruby Davis Barnes, he was a city mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association and Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.

His wife, Carrie Moss Barnes, survives.

Other survivors include: one son, James Barnes of Sikeston, Mo.; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Saturday at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Rev. John R. Christian officiating.

Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery at Hopkinsville.
