BOLIVAR -- Sikeston's golf team stands in 11th place after the first day of the Class 3 state golf championships on Monday.
With a score of 330, the Bulldogs currently stand 15 strokes behind Carthage, who leads the field with a score of 315.
Individually, sophomore E.C. Atchison is currently tied for 24th place with a 79 on the par 72 course. Senior Tanner Fritz is tied for 48th with an 82. Junior Matt Bain is currently in 72nd place with an 84.
Sophomore Martin Schaefer is in 79th place with a score of 85, and senior Matt Hon is in 90th at 87.
Dexter is in 12th place with a score of 336. Individually, Ryan Jackson is in 38th place with an 81. Tyler Holden is in 48th place with an 82. Chad Galloway is in 79th place with an 85.
Michael Williams is in 94th place with a score of 88, and freshman Andrew Stuever is in 116th place at 95.
Chillicothe's Kyle Marcolla leads everybody with a one-under 71. Hillsboro's Jesse Helms, Kirksville's Beau Crawford and Marshfield's Matt Roberts are all tied for second at 73.
The second round of the tournament takes place today at Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club in Bolivar.
