DEXTER -- Bert Farmer Minton, 85, died May 1, 2003, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center at Dexter.
Born May 24, 1917, at Dexter, son of the late Marion T. and Stella Farmer Minton, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, a former heavy equipment operator, a real estate agent with McFaw Land Co. and the former Liberty Township collector. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Dexter Masonic Lodge.
On Sept. 3, 1941, at Essex, he married Martha D. Miles who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Victoria L. Matthes and Robyn A. Brown of Dexter; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Minton; one brother, Fred E. Minton; and two sisters, Myrtle Blankenship and Lindell Stroud.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Fred Leist will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
