Max Miller
SIKESTON - Retired Lt. Col. Max Robert Miller, 80, died April 30, 2003, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 23, 1923, in Puxico, son of the late Ethridge and Nettie Patterson Miller, he retired as a lieutenant colonel pilot and staff officer with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 310 in Sikeston, VFW Post 4294 in Charleston and of the Disabled American Veterans.
On Nov. 29, 1945, in St. Louis, he married Colleen Alsup who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Bob Miller of Sikeston; one daughter, Elizabeth Michailoff of Camano Island, Wash.; three sisters, Nadine Johnson of Kevil, Ky., Jean Gilley of Litchfield, Ill., and June Brown of Brooklet, Ga.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Miller-Kincaid; and two brothers and one sister.
Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. Saturday until service time at 3:30 p.m. at Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Rufus McLean, pastor, will officiate.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bluff Cemetery in Idalia with the Rev. Tom Bass, officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Ted Dooley and Retired U.S. Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sgt. Roy Hodgkiss.
