Lola Henson

BLOOMFIELD - Lola Edna Henson, 67, died March 12, 2003, at her home.

Born April 8, 1935, in Advance, daughter of the late Homer and Irene Rector Lewis, she was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield and attended the Pentecostal Church.

On Dec. 20, 1950, in Bloomfield, she married Pete Henson who preceded her on July 20, 1983.

Survivors include: three sons, Danny Henson of Aquilla, William Henson of Essex and Harold Henson of Bloomfield; three daughters, Ruth Bess and Barbara Grim of Bloomfield and Linda McLeary of Zalma; and four brothers, Frank Lewis of Sikeston, Ed Lewis of Texas, Emmett Lewis of Kentucky and Melvin Lewis of Dexter; four sisters, Carolyn Patterson of Advance, Wilma Hailey of Charleston and Blanche Sturgeon and Ann Harp of Sikeston; 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Aaron Dean Henson on Sept. 1, 1991; and one grandson, three brothers and one sister.

Services were conducted Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Bill Bradley of Charleston, officiating.

Burial followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.

Pallbearers were: Anthony Bostic, Justin Bostic, Michael Henson, Josh Smith, Terry Wayne Grim and Gary Burnett.
