Edith Guthrie
MARQUAND -- Edith Lorene Perry Guthrie, 88, died May 5, 2003, at her home.
Born Aug. 14, 1914, in Elaine, Ark., daughter of the late John Benjamin and Lucy Jane Evans Perry, she was of the Baptist belief and was a retired school teacher.
On Feb. 12, 1932, in Marianna, Ark., she married R.D. Guthrie who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, R.W. Guthrie of Gilroy, Calif., and Robert D. Guthrie of Payson, Ariz.; four daughters, Mary Whitson of Sun City, Ariz., Inez Guthrie of Marquand, Sylvia Whittaker of Alvin, Texas, and Lorraine Simpson of Sikeston; and 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kathleen Anne Simpson.
Services were held May 8 at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown. The Rev. W.D. Snyder officiated.
Burial followed in Revelle Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Marvin Whitson, Ron Whittaker, Bob Simpson, Chuck Simpson and Robert D. Guthrie.
