Roy Whitney

CHARLESTON - Roy Lee Whitney, 44, died unexpectedly May 9, 2003, in East St. Louis, Ill.

Born Dec. 31, 1958, in Charleston, he was the son of Ollie Mae Whitney of Charleston and Theodore "Red" Whitney of Chicago, Ill.

Survivors in addition to his parents include: one daughter, Kizzie Whitney of Chicago; and four brothers, Jerry Whitney, Donnie Whitney and Dennis Whitney of Charleston and Terry Whitney of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Thursday until service time at 1 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston. Elder Steve Betts will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
