Carolyn Sweet

EAST PRAIRIE - Carolyn Charlene Sweet, 59, died at 8:40 p.m. April 3, 2002, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.

Born May 16, 1942, in New Madrid County, daughter of the late Leslie Filmore and Mollie Mae Conyers Keene Sr., she lived in Mississippi and New Madrid counties all her life. She had been employed by the Brown Shoe Company and was of the Baptist belief.

On July 18, 1981, she married Hardy Eugene "Gene" Sweet, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1999.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tammy Jane Bryars of Dogwood; one son, Alan Bruce Duke of Bertrand; one brother, Leslie F. Keene Jr. of East Prairie; one sister, Susan Cartwright of East Prairie; and one grandson, Barry Paul Bryars of Bertrand.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Keene and Larry Keene.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday with Bill Meeks officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
