Dorothy Chadd

SIKESTON - Dorothy Chadd, 88, died April 2, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Aug. 1, 1913, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Sam and Anna Lands Gross, she was of the Baptist belief. She had owned and operated the Donut Shop and was a nurse aide at Sikeston Health Care until retiring.

In April 1927, she married William Melvin Chadd who preceded her in death on March 19, 1967.

Survivors include: three sons, Sam Chadd and Louis Chadd of Sikeston and Russell Chadd of Clarksville, Tenn.; two daughters, Mabel Ritchie of New Madrid and Shirley Ward of Sikeston; two sisters, Martha Wyatt and Virginia Houchins of Sikeston; and 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Larry Ward, officiating.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
