BERNIE - William Dennis Jackson, 76, died June 3, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born March 20, 1926, in Dexter, son of the late Ernest and Clara McFarlen Jackson, he was a farmer and served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

On Feb. 14, 1957, at Hernando, Miss., he married Genivea Franklin who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Gerald Jackson of Dexter and Robert Franklin and Larry Franklin of Bloomfield; eight daughters, Loretta Gammon of Fredericktown, Brenda Irwin of Morley and Linda Myers, Yvonne Gord, Donna Bolin, Joy Burnett and Jill Hampton of Dexter and Brenda Phillips of Rolla; one sister, Bertha Sedrick of Dexter; and 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dwayne Jackson; one brother, Clarence Jackson; and two sisters, Beulah Johns and Alberta Moody.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gerald King will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
