Lorene Kearbey
SIKESTON - Lorene Helen Kearbey, 78, died Sept. 14, 2002, at her home.
Born July 28, 1924, in Salcedo, daughter of the late Sherman and Verbal Lands Turley, she had been employed by the International Shoe Factory and later worked for the Sikeston Laundry before retiring.
On Nov. 3, 1945, she married Lester Williams who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1962. She and Walter Dudley Kearbey were married June 10, 1991, and he died on March 4, 2002.
Survivors include: three daughters, Ruth Kearbey of Sikeston, Fay Dickerson of Scott City and Phyllis Haynes of Mojave, Calif.; five stepsons, Thomas Kearbey of Kansas, Don Kearbey, Billy Kearbey and Teddy Kearbey of Sikeston and Bobby Kearbey of Oregon; one brother, L.T. Turley of Sikeston; one sister, Lela Tate of St. Charles; and seven grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 22 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, George Allan Williams; and one stepson, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Ira Sandifer, pastor of Smith Avenue Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Virgil Hubbard, Dilbert Pemberton, Doyle Smith, Edward McCormick, Jeff Hale and Michael Hardin.
