Eulalia McCanless

OAK RIDGE - Eulalia McCanless, age 69, died Sept. 14, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 26, 1932, at Landers Ridge, daughter of the late George and Flora Asher Volz, she was a member of Caney Fork Baptist Church near Oak Ridge where she sang in the choir and had taught Sunday School and Bible School. A loving and devoted mother, she was also an accomplished artist and especially enjoyed painting rural, nature and animal scenes. She also played the organ.

She and Charles F. McCanless were married on Feb. 14, 1953. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1999.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry W. and Melodee McCanless of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzette C. and Wesley Lutton of Ellsinore and Janette E. and Rick McIntyre of Daisy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sonny and Gayla Volz of Oak Ridge and Elson and Linda Volz of Marble Hill; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Retha and Ralph Morton, Jenny and Bill Hargraves and Wanda Lee Riebold of Jackson, Loretta and Charles Wilson and Lavada and J.P. Daniels of Oak Ridge and Dolly Sawyer of Alaska; seven grandchildren and one granddaughter-in-law, Ryan Lutton, Shasta Lutton, Joshua Lutton and Corey Lutton of Ellisnore, Aarron McCanless and Jolani McCanless of Orlando, Jessica McIntyre and Lindsy McIntyre of Daisy; and one great granddaughter Kylee Lutton.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Everett Volz.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Rocky Tallent will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Caney Fork Cemetery.

Eulalia's family and friends will forever remember her as a wonderful mother, true friend, and as their guiding light.
