SIKESTON - Pfc. Joe E. Moss, son of E.L. Moss of Sikeston, was reported missing in action in France Nov. 9, a message from the War Department to his wife stated last week. Moss has been in service three years and overseas with a infantry regiment since May 1944.

CHARLESTON - Sgt. Charles Lough Jr., nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Martin and son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lough of Charleston, is expected home the last of this week to spend a 30-day furlough. He has been in the South Pacific.
SIKESTON - Cotton farmers in Scott county will vote on the 1964 market quotas next Tuesday. The polls will be open in eight township precincts from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a two-thirds majority must be reached in favor of the quotas if they are to be in effect.
WASHINGTON - First class postage will rise to 22 cents effective Feb. 17, according to the Postal Service Board of Governors. Last year, the postal service recommended that postage rise to 23 cents in 1985, but the rate commission scaled that back.
