Opal Chadwell

POPLAR BLUFF - Opal Riley Chadwell, 92, formerly of Dexter, died March 10, 2002, at the Three Rivers Healthcare South Campus.

Born Oct. 6, 1909, at Powe, daughter of the late John and Iva Cooper Riley, she was affiliated with the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On July 31, 1927, in Bernie, she married Elmer Chadwell who preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1989.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Prentice Chadwell; and four brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

She is survived by one daughter, Vivian Allen of Poplar Bluff; and other relatives.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Roy Standfill will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
