Darrell Ward
DEXTER - Darrell R. Ward, 61, died April 12, 2002, at his home.
Born July 10, 1940, at Bloomfield, son of the late Dale and Mamie E. Farris Ward, he had lived in California for several years before returning to Dudley in 1982. He was vice president of sales at W.W. Wood Products in Dudley and in 1990 moved to Dexter where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On May 24, 1996, in Piggott, Ark., he married Beckie Baker who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mark Candau of Gresham, Ore.; two brothers, Sie Ward of Poplar Bluff and C. L. "Dink" Ward of Hermiston, Ore.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kyle Ward and Pete Ward; and one sister, Thula Taylor.
Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating.
Burial will follow in the Smith-Stevenson Cemetery near Dexter.
