CHARLESTON - Residents are voting today for the purpose of selecting two councilmen-at-large for a term of three years. Those running for these two positions are Bill Knight, P.J. Ponder Jr. and Dr. T.P. Fenton.

SIKESTON - Third grade classes at Southwest Elementary School presented a program on Wednesday afternoon entitled "People Who Built Our Cities," which is part of a class project. The classes of Louanna Bixler and Mary Lou Walters presented the program to parents and classmates.

SIKESTON - Janelle Busch, director of the Columbus Center, Jerry Bishop, assistant director of the Sikeston Regional Center, John Chadd, director of the Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Center, and Harvey Cooper, executive director of the Sikeston Community Sheltered Workshop, were present as Mayor Mike Moll presented Lee Trankler, director of Region 9 Council on Developmental Disabilities with a signed proclamation declaring March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month honoring the physically challenged.
SIKESTON - Lee Hunter Elementary School Principal Kathy Boldrey, along with teachers Lela Inman, Debbie Bard and Glenna Priday have started looking over papers for the upcoming Parent/Teacher conferences for the fourth quarter. The Parent/Teacher conferences will help the parents and students plan for the near future of the students' education.
