DEXTER - Helen Jones, 89, died April 5, 2002, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Hospital.

Born Nov. 1, 1912, at Morganfield, Ky., daughter of the late James and Ethel Hendrickson Livers, she lived in Dexter for 60 years. She retired as a nurse from St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter.

On May 25, 1932, at Greenville, she married Jack Jones who preceded her in death on June 4, 1960.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Scott Jones who died on Aug. 13, 1988; two brothers, Tom Livers and Joe Livers; and one sister, Mary Emma Poetz.

Survivors include: one son, James Dale Jones of Sugarland, Texas; two daughters, Wanda Vancil of Dexter and Mona Scherer of Wappapello; two brothers, Bill Livers of St. Charles and Kinch Livers of St. Louis; three sisters, Janice Payton of Cape Girardeau, Etta Dean Stephens of Bloomfield and Christina Carlton of Advance; and 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. John Sheley of Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
