Delbert Gill
HOLCOMB -- Delbert Gill, 66, died Dec. 24, 2002, at his home.
Born Oct. 4, 1936, in Morehouse, son of the late James Harrison and Dolly Childers Gill, he retired from the military and was a member of the American Legion Post 293 at Malden.
His first wife, Lillie Gill, preceded him in death in 1989.
On Feb. 2, 1991, he married Wanda Gill who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons, Bobby Gill of Columbia, Tenn., James Gill and Donald Gill of Tallapoosa; four daughters, Sharon Farney of Phoenix, Ariz., Patricia Black of Lilbourn, Connie Hamilton of Evans, Ga., and Barbara Brant of Tallapoosa; three stepdaughters, Dolly Proctor and Nancy Foraker of Bosworth and Myrtle Politte of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Thomas Gill of Clarksville, Tenn., and Willard Gill of the state of California; two sisters, Bessie Coonts of Blytheville, Ark., and Alice Gill of the state of Illinois; and 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Don Emory will officiate.
Burial will follow with full military honors in Mounds Cemetery at Lilbourn.
