SIKESTON - Beginning Jan. 2, Parks and Recreation Director Jiggs Moore will have a new home in the Clinton Building.
Located at 501 Campanella Drive in the south end of the Recreation Complex, the Clinton Building is Sikeston's new community services building, which has been in use since July 1.
"With the tremendous usage the building is getting, we felt it was a good idea to have a regular presence in the building," Moore said, when explaining his decision to move his office there from City Hall. "Not only that, but a large part of our park activities takes place in the Recreation Complex, so the move puts me closer to day-to-day activities."
Moore's hours will remain the same, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Parks Division telephone number will also remain the same at 471-6070 and the new direct line to the Clinton Building is 472-3775.
"If I happen to be out of the office, folks trying to reach me will still be able to leave voice mail messages as they do at present," Moore said. "If someone needs to speak with me right away, a secretary still answers the phone at 471-6070 and can reach me by radio."
Residents wishing to make picnic shelter reservations, reservations for the Clinton Building, those who have questions regarding the parks or recreation program, those with inquiries regarding the cemetery and those who have questions or concerns regarding solid waste service should call Moore at 471-6070 or stop by his office in the Clinton Building.
"This move should not diminish service delivery for any of our residents in terms of the parks, cemetery and solid waste," he added. "It will obviously enhance service as it pertains to the Clinton Building."
