SIKESTON - Two groups of Middle School students are spreading Christmas cheer to needy families. Although the kindness shown by the school's Just Say No Club benefited Linda Bowers, the focus was her daughter, 10-year-old Leslie, who has cerebral palsy. Club officers raised money by selling sweatshirts, face painting and through donations. With the proceeds, they bought several presents for Leslie. "These are the first presents under Leslie's tree," Mrs. Bowers said. "She had cataracts until they were removed in February and her eyes were badly crossed, but in June she had surgery and had them fixed. This will really be the first Christmas she has been able to see all the lights and decorations."
