Otha Clemons
CHARLESTON - Otha Lee Clemons, 78, died June 16, 2002, at the Charleston Manor.
Born June 5, 1924, in Tunica, Miss., son of the late Stennis and Mary Kirkland Clemons, he lived at the Charleston Manor for the past 15 years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a construction worker and truck driver in Flint, Mich., before retiring.
Survivors include: six sisters, Virginia Crider, Ruth Stockton and Ira Jo Gordon of Charleston, Pauline Lewis of South Bay, Fla., Yvonnie Evans of Jefferson City and Margaret Hunt of Chicago; four brothers, Stennis Clemons Jr. of Philadelphia, Miss., Johnny Clemons of Cape Girardeau, Phillip Clemons of Charleston and Joe Mitchell Brown of Detroit, Mich.; and his stepmother, Velma Clemons of Charleston.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Friday until service time at noon at Sparks Funeral Home. Elder Steve Betts will officiate.
Burial is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday at the National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
