Dorothy Atwell
PORTAGEVILLE - Dorothy Atwell, 79, died May 12, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 29, 1922, in Boekerton, daughter of the late Charles and Grace Nicholas Starks, she was of the Baptist belief.
She was first married to Bill Dial and later married Gayle Atwell.
Survivors include: two sons, Reece Dial of Hughesville, Md., and Russell Dial of Sikeston; three daughters, Anita Pfeffer of New Madrid and Paula Savat and Linda Watkins of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, W.T. Starks of Knoxville, Tenn., Bill Starks of Birch Tree and Charles Starks of Poplar Bluff; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one sister, Boneta Panter; and one grandson, Allen Dial.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Mark Inman, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Pfeffer, Scott Pfeffer, Henry Dial, Daniel Dial, Shan Tibbs and Matt Dial.
