Mary Nell Holiman

CLARKTON - Mary Nell Jones Holiman, 90, died May 12, 2002, at her home.

Born April 30, 1912, in Trezevant, Tenn., daughter of the late Wade H. and Mollie Gill Jones, she was a faithful member of the Clarkton United Methodist Church, where she worked tirelessly in many capacities, including as district officer in the Women's Society of Christian Service for the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Clarkton Civic Club and named Woman of the Year. For more than 10 years, she co-chaired the City of Clarkton fund-raising drive for the Dunklin County American Cancer Society.

She was the devoted wife of the late U.S. Holiman and dearly loved mother of Dow and Karen Holiman of Springfield and Ruch and Marsha Holiman of New Madrid. Also surviving are her grandchildren and their spouses, Christine Holiman and Eric Hutson, Jeffrey and Noelle Holiman, John and Allison Holiman and Jay and Cleve Holiman; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Jackson, Maya and Cooper; and special friends, Elaine and Ron Roelker.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Clarkton United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Holiman, John Holiman, Jay Holiman and Cleve Holiman, Eric Hutson and Ron Roelker.

Mary Nell's home, as well as her heart, were always open. In her lifetime, she made a positive difference in the spiritual, physical and emotional health and well being of countless lives. She was a remarkable lady who will be greatly missed.
