Jerome Bucher

BENTON - Jerome Ervin Bucher, 67, died at 2:34 p.m. Jan. 26, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 13, 1937, in New Hamburg, son of the late Cletus and Clara Gosche Bucher, he was a farmer. He had also worked for Florsheim Shoe and in the laundry department for St. Francis Medical Center. A member of St. Denis Catholic Church, he was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran.

On Aug. 30, 1958, at Benton, he married Shirley Ann Halter who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four sons, Richard Bucher of Carlisle, Pa., Gary Bucher of Chicago, Roger Bucher of Leopold and Kevin Bucher of Sedalia; three daughters, Gaylene McMillan of Cape Girardeau, Cathy Rainey of Dexter and Amy Woods of Marble Hill; three sisters, Vernita Schott, Georgie Kielhofner and Rose Pobst of Oran; and 10 grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, where parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. will be followed with a Knights of Columbus service at 6:40 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Denis Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Ron Halter, Brian Pobst, Philip Hulshof, Dennis Bucher, Doug Halter and Frank Bucher.
