Charles Pearson
MINER - Charles Doyne Pearson, 61, died June 24, 2002, at his home.
Born April 29, 1941, in Center Ridge, Ark., son of the late Newton H. and Stella Pearl Shipp Pearson, he retired from the U.S. Army, after more than 20 years of service, and was a veteran of the Vietnam era. He was then employed in civil service by the Edgewood Aberdeen Proving Grounds and was of the Baptist belief.
On Jan. 6, 1967, in Korea, he married Kyong Kim who survives of Bel Air, Md.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lynn Kim of Bel Air and Charles and Vicky Pearson of Abingdon, Md.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kattie and James Espinoza of Forest Hill, Md., and Maurice Pearson of Bel Air; one brother, Carl Pearson of Sikeston; two sisters, Kathryn Bailey of Springfield and Linda Ray of Lyons, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
One sister preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Robert Burnes, pastor of House of Prayer Independent Baptist Church, will officiate.
The Missouri Military Honors Program of Fort Leonard Wood will conduct graveside military rites at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
