BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. -- New Madrid County Central fell to 0-3 on the season Friday night, losing to Blytheville, Ark., 62-50. After both teams fought to a 14-14 stalemate in the first quarter, the Chickasaws outscored the Eagles 20-11 in the second to hold a 34-25 halftime lead. Blytheville outscored NMCC 28-25 in the second half to pull out the win.
The Chickasaws had four players finish in double figures, led by Eddie Thomas with 16 points.
Daniel Smith had 15, followed by John Fowler with 12 and David Williams with 10.
For the Eagles, Vaughn Shepard led the way with 11 points, followed by Mack Kimble and Michael Rose with 10 each.
NMCC will compete in the Sikeston Invitational this week, taking on Sikeston in the first round on Monday at 7 p.m.
