Vernice Wilson

SIKESTON - Vernice Wilson, 83, died at 10:04 a.m. March 10, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Jan. 7, 1919, in Hagarville, Ark., daughter of the late James H. and Orla Rowbotham Freed, she was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ.

On Oct. 23, 1938, in New Madrid, she married Guy Wilson who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Steven Wilson of Matthews and James Wilson of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Mary McPherson of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Lou Alice Walls of Fresno, Calif.; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Pat Hogan, pastor of the Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
