Raymond Ressel

KELSO - Raymond William Ressel, 70, died July 13, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 25, 1932, at Cape Girardeau, son of the late Werner Lawrence and Thelma Corvick Ressel, he was a self-employed carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6407 in Scott City.

On July 14, 1956, he married Carmen Suraez, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ronald Ressel of Chaffee and Raymond Ressel of St. James; one daughter, Geri Hillman of Laurel, Md.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City where a parish rosary is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

A funeral mass is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso.
