Betty Goldschmidt

PORTAGEVILLE - Betty Goldschmidt, 70, died June 6, 2002, at her home.

Born Sept. 21, 1931, in Ridgely, Tenn., daughter of the late Bert and Kate Ann Zaricor Malone, she was a member of St. Eustachius Catholic Church and worked at Stapleton.

On May 19, 1955, she married Kuz Moreland who preceded her in death on June 11, 1974. She and Norbert Goldschmidt were married July 23, 1988, and he died on Aug. 10, 1991.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles "Phillip" Moreland of Tampa, Fla., and Chris "Frank" Moreland of Sikeston; one daughter, Harriet E. Jones of Portageville; and five grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Malone Warren.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home where a prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Eustachius Catholic Church with the Rev. Henry Grodecki officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
