Dutch Wyatt

POPLAR BLUFF - Clarence E. "Dutch" Wyatt, 81, formerly of Charleston, died May 16, 2002, at his home.

Born April 13, 1921, in Charleston, son of the late William A. and Violet DeField Wyatt of Charleston, he was a retired school teacher, football coach and athletic director for the Poplar Bluff School District. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division during World War II.

On Aug. 18, 1946, in Washington, he married Geraldine "Gerry" Geisert who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bill Wyatt of Enid, Okla., Ben and Debbie Wyatt of Doniphan and Bob "Wolf" and Lisa Wyatt of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Ruth Ohmes of Charleston and June Beal of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted May 18 at Cotrell Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.

Burial followed in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
