Sylvia McFerron

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Sylvia A. McFerron, 92, died July 11, 2002, at Chateau Girardeau.

Born May 30, 1910, at Laflin, daughter of the late Perry A. and Martha C. Snider Crawford, she lived in Cape Girardeau most of her life and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

On Sept. 5, 1925, at Randles, she married Howard J. McFerron who preceded her in death on June 26, 1979.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Thelma Hampton in July 1995; and one brother and one sister.

Survivors include: three grandsons, George Hampton of Doniphan, Mike Hampton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Steve Hampton of Sikeston; one granddaughter, Candy Stanley of Jackson; and 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. today until service time at 2 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The Rev. E.K. Purcell will officiate.

Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be: Mark Moore, Jason Hampton, Ben Hampton, Derek Hunt, Frank Hunt, Ron Barrett, Mike Carver, Chris Lambert and Joshua Barrett.
