Curley Foster

CHARLESTON - Curley Jimmie Lee Foster, 88, died July 12, 2002, at the Charleston Manor.

Born Dec. 2, 1913, in Helena, Ark., son of the late John and Katie Foster, he lived in Missouri since 1928. He owned and operated Foster's Cab for many years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Foster was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board.

In 1958, he married Margaret Roberts who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: seven daughters, Bobbie Dunigan of Charleston, Betty Cooper of Wilson City, Linda Duncan of Chicago, Ill., Marilyn Clark of Sikeston, Brenda Wilderness of Gary, Ind., Kelly Tipler of East Prairie and Pamela Woods of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three sons, Terry Wood of Kalamazoo, Michael Cross of Michigan City, Ind., and Jimmie Foster of Gary; and several grandchildren and great-granchildren.

Visitation is from noon Tuesday until service time at 1 p.m. at Mercy Seat Baptist Church. The Rev. J.L. Posey, pastor, will officiate.

The Missouri Military Honors Program will conduct graveside military rites at Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
