Nellie Williams
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Nellie Crain Williams, 89, formerly of Bernie, Mo., died June 27, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born Nov. 22, 1912, at Bernie, daughter of the late Samuel Marshall Crain and Sarah Elizabeth Hayes, she was a resident of San Jose and a 30-year member of the Grace Baptist Church of San Jose. A clerical supervisor for the California Vocational Rehabilitation, she was a school teacher and Girl Scout leader, a member of the White Shrine, a lifelong member of the Eastern Star and of the Guardian of Jobs Daughters, holding offices in all these organizations.
In 1975 in San Jose, she married Fred Williams, who preceded her in death in 1980. Also she was preceded in death by 13 siblings.
Survivors include: one son, Roger Livsey of Monett, Va.; two daughters, Emily Livsey Mendez of San Jose and Marian Livsey Hays of Oceanside, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. today until time for services at 2 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with the Rev. Kevin Escue officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
